becoming a dog walker (Animal Care Asst.) helps our dogs become more socialized, become better walkers and most importantly provides them the love and companionship they need before finding their future homes. We are open 365 days a year to volunteers and are always looking for dedicated individuals who have the time and compassion needed to work with stray dogs. This involves a 6 month commitment with one scheduled (2) hour shift per week. All shifts are open and we can work around schedules.

About Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter
Location:

Mission Statement
Provide humane canine care and control, reunite lost pets and owners and ensure the safety and welfare of the community and animals through appropriate law enforcement and education.
Description
One of the main ways we are able to help the stray dogs throughout Cuyahoga County is through our Best Friends Medical Fund which provides above and beyond medical care. One can imagine that stray dogs don't always come in with having had the best of medical care, so this fund helps us supply that and give dogs a second chance who may otherwise not have it.
We're able to do this through fundraising events. Our goal is to grow our fundraising team so we can continue the work of treating our dogs and get them healthy enough for adoption.
