ORGANIZATION: SOUTHERN MAINE AGENCY ON AGING

If you served in the military, this is your chance to help fellow veterans in Southern Maine! Visit a veteran in his/her home, chat and swap stories, go out for coffee or lunch, and provide much needed companionship. Contact volunteer@smaaa.org or 207-396-6595 for more information.

This is a great opportunity to help another veteran, socialize with other veteran volunteers, attend volunteer recognition/honors ceremony luncheon, link to veteran network and access to information on veteran services and other programs that may apply to both the volunteer and the veteran receiving visits, achieve the feeling of satisfaction in making a difference in the life of a lonely/socially isolated veteran.

The next Volunteer Training for Vet to Vet Maine will take place in July 2020 (date/times available upon inquiry).

Description

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY!

Southern Maine Agency on Aging Volunteer Services provides opportunities to make a difference in the community through volunteer service. Volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, meals on wheels, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. We offer maximum flexibility and choice to our volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of the over age 55 volunteer to opportunities in selected imapct service areas to help solve community problems.
