Pet Requirements:

1. Must be currently registered with a Pet Assisted Therapy Program (e.g. Pet Partners).
   
   
2. Must be approved by site’s Program Manager to ensure that the rights, preferences, health, and safety of participants, staff, and visitors are not compromised by the presence of an animal, with considerations including, but not limited to:
   * Some participants may have allergic reactions to pet hair or dander.
   * Some participants may not prefer physical contact with a pet.
   * Some participants may express fear or other adverse reactions to a pet.
   
   
3. Must be healthy, receiving regular examinations and immunizations appropriate for its species by a veterinarian licensed in Washington state in order to be free of diseases transmittable to humans, as proven by submission of shot records.
   
   
4. Must be controlled during visits - either by leash or carrying crate - and responsive to direction.
   
   
5. Must have a suitable temperament, being calm and comfortable when interacting with new people and other pets (when applicable), with no history of aggression or infliction of injury.
   
   
6. Must be house-trained.
