As the Director of Activities at the Healthcare Resort of Plano, I have taken initiative to reach out to our community for assistance in regards to implementing activities for our senior residents. Our activities range from brain stimulating activities, bingo, cards, arts & crafts, music, social snack hours and much more. I am constantly adding new things to the calendar for more options to choose from, however I would love to bring volunteers into our program to assist with transferring residents to and from activities, assist during activities and also implement the volunteers activity of choice. This is an opportunity for volunteers to make a big impact within our residents' lives and daily living.
Along with assisting during activities, I am also looking for volunteers who have transportation services or access to driving a van/bus to transport Assisted Living residents to/from activities that are outside of our facility. Outings will only be 2-3 times a month, depending on availability.

Description
The Healthcare Resort of plano is an Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facility within one building. With two floors and over 60 residents, we are committed to providing the best level of care that will assist with improving the every day lives of these individuals, whether that be while they are living at the HCR or living elswhere. Our activities department focuses on implementing activities that are both meaningful and enjoyable, and are based on each individual's preference of activity participation. Activities range from brain stimulating activities, arts & crafts, music entertainment and much more.
Being able to utilize volunteers within our organization will help to provide a more engaging environment with more stability, organization and confidence that our residents will be assisted and happy during the duration of their stay.
