1 HR CAN HELP! BECOME A VOLUNTEER AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A CHILD'S LIFE!
We have been supporting the community for over 6 years and we are always looking for volunteers like you, to join our team. We assist youth ages 7-11 with homework help using a variety of different tools and resources, online. No experience is needed but background checks are required. A mandatory orientation is required for all tutors before you begin tutoring and we ask that that all tutors be at least 16 years old. Tutors under 18 must have their parent's consent to participate. During COVID tutoring sessions are continuing to be held online via Zoom, Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30-6:30 P.M. Subjects include: Math, Reading, Grammar and Spelling. We are really in need of Math and Reading tutors.

Description
Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church is located at 261 W. 25th Street across from Ivy Tech. We have served the Highland Vicinity Neighborhood since 1939. OSELC is the home of Rebecca's Garden Of Hope (RGOH) Tutoring & Mentoring Program - Indy. We offer free virtual tutoring for "at-risk" students in grades 1-6. RGOH is in year 6 We have several Community Partners including Ivy Tech Community College, Tindley Genesis Academy, IUPUI and University of Indianapolis. We have free virtual tutoring on Tuesday and Thursday weekly from 5:15-7:00 P.M., for elementary students in grades 1-6; RGOH runs throughout the school year September-May. Our goals include providing homework help with enhanced academics and finish the day with a 30-minute Bible Activity. Our Parents, Tutors/Volunteers and Community
Partners speak highly of our program success. Our goal is to have one to one tutoring That's where volunteers come in. we recently completed year six.
