VARIEDADES: Little Central America, 1984 is the eighth installment of the performance series created by Rubén Martínez, which has been presented at various locations in Los Angeles. Directed by Elia Arce, Little Central America, 1984 will seamlessly knit together narrative, music, and movement. The performance will tell stories of nuanced human relationships behind the larger political narratives of a singular past-is-prologue moment in Los Angeles' history - the height of the 1984 civil war in El Salvador and the arrival of hundreds of thousands of refugees. The intimate performance features writer-performers Elia Arce, Raquel Gutiérrez, Leticia Hernández, Robert Karimi, and Rubén Martínez.

Volunteer tasks included assisting with checking in guest, ushering, and distributing and picking up surveys. Grand Performances would love for you to join us for an incredible evening.

This event is located at the Echo Park United Methodist Church.
