Become a part of the "Check-In" Team, and provide direct support to Hospice patients and their families from the comfort of the Hospice Office!
Volunteers are needed to make phone calls to patients and/or their caregivers on Thursday mornings to learn if they have adequate prescriptions and medical supplies for the weekend. In addition, the Volunteers will provide a "listening ear" often providing patients and/or caregivers an opportunity to relieve their tension and anxiety. Check-In Volunteers will be increasing Homeland Hospice's contact with patients and caregivers, thus strengthening relationships, while also decreasing the number of "non-emergency " calls received on the weekend.
Volunteers may assist with calls every week or every other week. Training will be provided, as well as, a "script" that will help guide the volunteer with the call. Homeland Hospice staff will also be available to answer questions and offer support as needed.
