Join us at United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island's Life Without Limits Gala! Held at the historic Oheka Castle on Thursday evening, October 14, 2021, UCP-LI's Gala welcomes 200+ guests for cocktails and dinner, raffles, auction, dancing, live music and much more. The evening includes an auction of artworks created by artists with disabilities, that is an event highlight. Volunteers support us by welcoming and assisting our guests, selling raffle tickets/manning prize tables, helping the registration process, assisting with set-up/décor, etc. This is a wonderful evening, and you will work alongside another volunteer - volunteers work in pairs -- to ensure you are enjoying the evening while you support our organization. Oh, and dinner is on us! We will provide a brief training about a week or so in advance of the gala, to help introduce our volunteers to each other, and to provide an overview of the evenings activities; dress is formal (but wear comfortable shoes!). United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island provides programs and services to adults and children with disabilities throughout Long Island. We would love to have you join us - please call Karen Puritano to learn more: 631-232-0011 ext 452, or email kpuritano@ucp-li.org. Learn more about UCP-LI at www.ucp-li.org.

Description

United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island (UCP-LI) has an over 65-year history of fulfilling dreams, restoring hope and Creating Life Without Limits where it once seemed impossible. At the beginning of its history, children born with Cerebral Palsy or other developmental disabilities had a short life expectancy and were offered few, if any services. Many spent their lives growing up in institutions.

Today, as a result of the programs and services offered by UCP-LI, individuals with a disability are living long, rich lives. They are living independently in the community, achieving gainful employment, getting married, having children and so much more.

Through a wide range of programs and services, UCP-LI serves individuals with a range of developmental disabilities. At the Children’s Center a team of professionals offer students innovative Early Intervention, Preschool, and School Age programs. Our Adult Day programs build upon the skills learned in the early years and continue developing individuals’ interests in art, music, sign language, volunteerism and so much more. The Employment Connection helps prepare men and women to seek employment and continues to provide coaching and training as they navigate the workplace. United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island also has 31 family focused residential homes. Each home is beautifully maintained and offers 24 hour support to address the needs of each resident.

At United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island we are dedicated to Creating a Life Without Limits for each individual we serve.
