We Need Passionate People Paid Overnight Staff
We are hiring four overnight staff to be on-site managers for our shelter. Each night we are open, two of the four paid staff will work from 6:30pm to 7:30am supervising the shelter and doing fire watch. Staff are welcome to trade off sleeping and being awake as only one person needs to be awake for the fire watch between 11pm and 5am.
The expectation is to serve from 10 to 15 nights each winter. This is a perfect opportunity for individuals to earn enough mad-money to pay for that summer cruise or vacation you've always wanted!
To start the application process just fill in the form below indicating your interest.
Team LeadsAre you a person that loves to make things happen and be in charge? You are in luck. Our Team Lead program provides all the training and support you need to be successful! Read on.
We have opportunities for evening leads and morning leads. Commitment is just 6:30pm to 9:30pm for evening leads and 5:30am to 7:30am for morning leads. Expect to serve a total number 5 to 7 times per winter (November through March).
As a new Team Lead you will be assigned to an existing team as an associate lead to the existing Team Lead for the entire year. You will learn the ropes and get hands on experience. You will also have access to the Program Director 24/7 for any questions or concerns!
After your year in training, you will be the Team Lead with your own associate lead. Your service commitment is only the current shelter year. Each year you will be given the chance to continue or retire.

Compassionate VolunteersWe are seeking people who are passionate about homelessness. Homelessness in the US is on the rise and we do not believe it is going to change anytime soon. In the meantime it is up to individuals to make a difference. While one person may not fix homelessness, just impacting a single life, one time is a wonderful outcome. Never think your contribution is too small to count.
Volunteering can be as simple as contributing your time only 5 or 6 mornings or evenings over the course of the entire winter. It could be in a leadership position helping us set direction and growing the mission. The choice is yours.
- Evening Volunteer help with making dinner, setting up the shelter, welcoming guests, cleaning up, food shopping, etc.
- Morning Volunteer help with making breakfast, putting away supplies, cleaning up, food shopping, etc.
- Driver pick up and deliver guests from designated pick up locations using 14 passenger van (regular driver license works just fine)
- Outreach and Awareness join a team of people spreading the word about the shelter and speaking to groups
- Blanket Washers: wash, dry and fold shelter blankets using a local laundromat (paid for by CWS)

Mission Statement
Provide a warm welcoming place for people to stay overnight on cold winter nights.
Description
Homeless individuals coming in from the cold for a warm breakfast. Chilled to the bone, red noses, blue fingers. That's how it began in 2008. That's all it took for a couple of individuals working at Trinity Lutheran Church's Saturday morning community breakfast to take action.
Today, more than 1,000 bed-nights are provided for over 100 individuals living in or around the Lynnwood/Edmonds area. Each guest is provided a hot dinner, mattress and blanket, a warm smile, and morning breakfast, any night the temperatures drops below 34 degrees.
We are staffed by volunteers that have a heart for those who suffer and have a special concern for the plight of the homeless. Volunteers come from all walks of life, cultures and economic levels, but their compassion is the binding glue that now has over 150 people involved.
The shelter has moved many times in its short history but has found a wonderful home at the Maple Park Church in Lynnwood. We are eternally grateful to this wonderful organization.
