Bring your skills to support Uhuru Furniture, an economic development project of the African People's Education and Defense Fund.

Do you enjoy walking through a new neighborhood, popping into the stores? We have the perfect volunteer opportunity for you!

Join our community outreach team of volunteers! We need volunteers like you who can go into shops and ask if we can hang our poster in their window and leave cards on the counter. It's a great way to explore new neighborhoods, get exercise, meet new people and support African self-determination at the same time!

How it works: Attend a one-time, new-volunteer orientation, in that orientation you can sign up for days and times that work with your schedule to volunteer. At the beginning of your shift you would meet at our store to pick up materials. The materials would include a map with your assigned area for that day, posters, cards, a pen, tape and push pins. Then you would head out to your area and when finished report back!

Don't worry, we would give you a brief training before you go out!

If you can see yourself participating in this position, please reach out to attend our next new-volunteer orientation. Orientations are held every Wednesday at 5 pm via Zoom.

We look forward to hearing from you!
