HI there,
ACCESS Brazil will have its annual happy hour fundraiser in Washington DC this August 29.
The event will take place at Bar Cortez, starting at 5pm. Would be nice if volunteer could arrive a little earlier.
We need someone nice, energetic, with a good pitch/"sale" skills, smart, presentable, who likes to engage with the public. The volunteer would stay at the entrance of the event talking to guests, taking donations - cash or card (instructions will be provided of course), explaining what Access does in the field and possibly signing people up as recurrent donors and/or to our newsletter.
We need someone that is willing to be part of ACCESS at least for this 1 day and love the cause!
A computer, Access marketing material and all else needed will be provided to the volunteer!
*One free drink on Access will also be provided :)

Our Mission Access works to give innovative education to the youth impacted by violence in the most vulnerable contexts. Our headquarters, located on the outskirts of São Paulo, is a haven where we host projects that emphasize the importance of education, violence prevention and peace building.

What We Do
Gang-led drug trafficking is common in Brazil's biggest cities, and understanding this culture of violence can be a challenge. A research-based and unbiased view of the problem is needed in order to find a solution. ACCESS Brazil implements education projects in Science and Technology in these under-served communities and helps raise funds for projects running in the most vulnerable favelas of the Sao Paulo. We collaborate with local organizations, focusing strongly on education and youth empowerment. By providing a stronger support system, we aim to decrease violence and crime rates within these communities.
