Omaha Home for Boys is kicking off its 100 Year Anniversary Celebration with a Roaring 20s Gala on November 8, 2019. The event will be held at the Embassy Suites in LaVista and a number of volunteer opportunities are available for both individuals and small groups. Dinner will be provided for all volunteers.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Set-up

(Arrival time at Embassy Suites - LaVista - 9 a.m.)

--Unload auction items at loading dock and take up to silent auction area

--Silent auction area - place items on tables and arrange in numerical order

--Set-up wine pull display

--Set-up restaurant tree display

--Ballroom - programs on chairs, thank you cards at each table setting, flowers on tables

--Two aluminum framed photos to stage - hang from pipe and drape

--Script book to podium

--Place event signage in appropriate area


Registration/Check-Out

(Arrival time at Embassy Suites - LaVista - 3:30 p.m.)

--One Cause will conduct on-site training before the event. You will register guests as they arrive ensuring that we have a cell phone number and email address to be used for electronic bidding.


Wine pull

(Arrival time at Embassy Suites - LaVista - 5 p.m.)

--Guests pull a numbered cork from the basket. The number on the cork is the numbered bottle of wine they win.


Restaurant tree

(Arrival time at Embassy Suites - LaVista - 5 p.m.)

--Collect money from guests. Guests pull envelope from the envelope tree.


Bidding Assistants

(Arrival time at Embassy Suites - LaVista - 5 p.m.)

--Walk around silent auction area and assist guests in placing bids on their electronic bidding device.


Silent Auction tables/packagers

(Approximately 8 p.m.)

--At the completion of the silent auction, items will be placed in numbered bags and put in numerical order on the auction tables. Wrap signage in shrink wrap and clean area.


Silent Auction runners

(Following event - approximately 8:30 p.m.)

--Guests will come to the silent auction pick-up tables with a "paid" invoice. You will gather each of the numbered auction item(s) purchased by our guests. Training will be provided on-site the night of the event.


Live Auction spotters

(Approximately 8 p.m. in event Ballroom)

--Ensure that the auctioneer recognizes bids of guests


Thank guests waiting in line at checkout

(Following event - approximately 9 p.m.)

--If we have the guest’s credit card on file and they do not have any items to pick up, they do not need to stand in line.
