WEEKDAY AT THE FARM!!! Come join us anytime between 3:30 pm- 6:30 pm to help with a variety of farm tasks: seeding, transplanting, composting, farm maintenance, mulching, and HARVESTING! We encourage anyone and everyone who is looking for the opportunity to get their hands in the soil and learn how to grow delicious and nutritious food. We (and our chickens) would love to meet you and have you join our community of volunteers. Please note, no prior gardening or farming experience is required. We will teach you all that you need to know.

Logistics:
Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, appropriate footwear and a hat. And do not forget sunscreen! Check the weather forecast and dress appropriately. Taylor St Farm is an operating farm so there may be tools present, uneven surfaces and insects.

About Garden to Table

Location:

Mission Statement

Our mission is to educate and create a network of food systems that builds community and improves access to healthy food.

Description

Urban residents have been disconnected from where their food comes from for generations and Garden to Table believes this is a central reason why public health has steadily deteriorated. Food is a fundamental part of everyday life and it should be grown where people live.

In October of 2013, Garden to Table installed 2,500 square feet of raised beds on a previously vacant lot to develop Taylor St Farm. It is a one acre urban farm located in downtown San Jose.
Our mission is to educate and create a network of food systems that builds community and improves access to healthy food. We do this by growing unique and delicious produce on our farm, educating the public. We strive to transform the way cities are fed and connect people with great local food!
