Voices of Recovery San Mateo County Nonprofit is looking for leaders like you to join our board of directors. For 10 years, our volunteer board has been the strategic heart of our organization, ensuring that in our work for people in recovery, we deliver real results, respond to changes in our community and always deliver the highest ethical standards to be worthy of our public support.
Voices of Recovery San Mateo County would like to extend to you an opportunity to join Voices of Recovery Board of Directors. It is no secret that "More than 64,000 Americans died from drug overdoses in 2016 or the fact that over 20 million people nationwide suffer from drug and alcohol abuse issues. Perhaps worse, the cost of treatment and incarceration run nearly $700 billion annually for taxpayers. As a leader in Alcohol and other Drug Addiction Recovery, we would greatly appreciate your leadership and expertise in helping us to continue the Fight of Recovery throughout the county of San Mateo.
The board of directors is legally and ethically responsible for all activities of the organization. ... Determines how the organization will carry out its mission through long and short-range planning. Adopts an annual budget and provides fiscal oversight.

Voices of Recovery San Mateo County (VORSMC) honors and embraces all unique strengths and challenges along the journey of recovery. We create peer-led opportunities for education, wellness, advocacy, and support services for individuals in or in need of long term recovery from alcohol and other drug addictions, equally sharing these opportunities and support services with impacted families.
Description
VORSMC is for everyone seeking and maintaining long-term recovery from their own addictions as well as long-term recovery from being affected by another addiction including family members, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.
