Volunteer at the 2019 Hallo-Wine Fall Festival! We will be raising our glasses to raise funds for San Diego’s most vulnerable population...children. And we need your help to make this event a success!

The Hallo-Wine Fall Festival is held every October in recognition of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. All proceeds raised provide critical assistance to San Diego’s most vulnerable children and families through Home Start’s programs. Each day, our staff serve on the front lines in the battle to prevent child abuse and ensure children’s safety, healthy development and a thriving family.

This is going to be a very fun event, so join us and help change lives!

Volunteer Opportunities:

• Set Up - 10:30am to 2:30pm
  Help set up silent auction items, set up wine cellar pull, set up soda/water table, put out trash bins, support vendor load-in, put linens and centerpieces on tables, other support as needed
• Registration Desk - 2:00pm to 6:00pm
  Welcome and check-in guests into the system. Hand out tasting cups to guests. When registration is complete, will transition into the check-out table. Check out the guests can as they pick up/pay for their silent auction items.
• Wine Cellar - 2:00pm to 6:00pm
  Guests can buy an anonymous bottle of wine. Volunteers will assist in pulling the wine and facilitate the wine cellar. Clear tables and chairs. Take the trash out, put linens in a pile, break down boxes, items not sold need to go in Home Start van, break down pop-up tents, clean up the venue as needed.
• Silent Auction - 2:00pm to 6:00pm
  Encourage guests to make bids and answer any questions they have about the baskets, and ensure items do not get stolen. When Silent Auction closes, will transition to runners, bringing the baskets to the winners. Clear tables and chairs. Take the trash out, put linens in a pile, break down boxes, items not sold need to go in Home Start van, break down pop-up tents, clean up the venue as needed.
• Vendor Support - 2:00pm to 6:00pm
  Provide support to vendors (pouring drinks, serving food, getting ice, etc.). Clear tables and chairs. Take the trash out, put linens in a pile, break down boxes, items not sold need to go in Home Start van, break down pop-up tents, clean up the venue as needed.
• Activities Lead - 2:00pm to 6:00pm
  Lead activities with our guests, like paint by color and jenga.
