Interested in helping individuals in need earn their Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials and pursue a career in early childhood education?
Arlington County’s Department of Human Services is recruiting volunteer instructors to teach/co-teach our CDA classes and tutors to assist our CDA program participants.
For CDA teachers and co-teachers, no previous teaching experience is required, but experience working in early childhood education is preferred. Curriculum, lesson plans, materials, and training are provided. Volunteer teachers/co-teachers commit to at least one class per week. We are in need of teachers and co-teachers for the following days/times:
- Monday's from 9am-12pm
- Wednesday's from 9am-12pm
For CDA tutors, no previous teaching experience is required, but experience working in early childhood education is preferred. Volunteers tutors commit to at least one session per week. We are in need of tutors for the following days/times:
- Tuesday's from 9am-12pm
- Thursday's from 9am-12pm
- Friday's from 9am-12pm
All CDA teachers, co-teachers, and tutors must attend a mandatory training on Monday, December 16th from 9am-12pm.
Classes are from January 6th - March 27th. There are no classes on January 20th or February 17th.
