A Message from Healthy Choice Enterprise: Thank you for signing up to attend Mind Fest. We had to reschedule the event due to vandalism at our facility. We anticipate a speedy recovery and have rescheduled the date for Saturday October 26. Same Location: 1901 S Jones Blvd, 89146 and Same Time: 10:00am to 2:00 pm.

The HCE Mind Festival extends an opportunity for people who have been affected, leading mental health/mind - body professionals, and the community, to share their knowledge, information and experiences in a fun, festive, and informative setting.
The stigma of mental health disorders is old fashion and has no place in modern day medicine and forward health thinking. The mind controls the body and we can no longer regard the mind separately from the body. Awareness of mental health must be brought into the light. Society must recognize that psychiatry issues are disorders that can be treated just as any other physical health issue can be treated.
Our goal is to bring Mental Health into main stream health awareness, illuminating disorders of the mind and their effect on the body and behavior. The Mind Fest Theme: We are Whole when the Mind And Body are Well, which is the foundation for accomplishing Complete Well Being.
At the end of this family friendly event, the attendee will be more tolerant, open minded, and knowledgeable about their mind health, also proactive in seeking mental health care treatment for themselves and people important to them. Individuals, Families, and Groups are invited.
Volunteers hours are 8 am to 4 pm that can be done all together of broken up 8 am to 12 pm or 12 pm to 4 pm. The tasks are: set up, break down, guide/direct, photograph, man the food/beverages tables, bathrooms, helping us spread the word, and more. With your help we will have a successful event as well as make great connections. Let us know about you and thank you in advance. They can take part in all of the activities and will receive credit for their services, free food and beverages, and free raffle tickets for a volunteer only drawing. Healthy Choice Enterprise, Inc. (HCE) missions are to impact positive, measurable change in our community's well being by promoting unique and innovative programs that generate regular attendance and adherence. Secondarily we aim to decrease health apathy and improve wellness with education programs that increase self-esteem, knowledge, and empowerment. The goals of our programs are to effect community wellness by advocating positive health and education enrichment activities which help people decrease disease morbidity and mortality, poor proactive healthcare, and lifestyle choices. This is accomplished by a dedicated staff, volunteers, and board members; rendering the greatest possible service.
Description
Healthy Choice Enterprise, Inc. (HCE), is a professional not for profit organization formed to provide health, fitness, and educational programs to the community. Our goal is to reduce obesity, sedentary lifestyles, and apathy in seeking healthcare. We work to enhance the quality of youth and adult lives by providing practical health education and fitness events, thereby increasing community betterment. HCE programs include health and wellness fair events, weekly adult dance exercise classes taught in the form of "Chicago Style Steppin" and "Shuffle", the bi-weekly "Ask Nurse Z" internet radio talk show, monthly dance exercise workshops taught by our resident instructor: Z Toney and Guest Instructors, and our Annual Dinner and Dance Gala.
The organization was founded by Zakeeyaw Toney, RN a United States Air Force Veteran, an Aerobic and Fitness Instructor for 29 years and a Registered Nurse for 23 years, who works as the program developer and Chief Operating Officer. Zakeeyaw developed the programs and has worked to find professionals to help implement them. Our programs include Community Health and Wellness Fairs, weekly dance exercise classes, the bi-weekly "Ask Nurse Z" internet radio talk show, monthly dance exercise workshops, and our Annual Dinner Dance Gala. Through our programs we address some of peoples greatest needs for Health Information, Physical Conditioning, Stress Management, Positive Social Interaction, and Physical Exercise in the form of dancing.
