Role Description: Professionals or individuals with specific training or credentials who volunteer, offering their expertise. Advisors meet with a program participant one to three times by appointment, depending on the situation, to provide expert advice or direction on an issue.
Skills needed: non-judgmental, encouraging, familiar with budgeting tools, ability to see the value in others’ priorities
Training provided in: client interaction training, area resources
Expectations of volunteers: Be available to meet with clients 2-4 hours per week or every other week. Attend trainings as scheduled, monthly team meetings, and optional group supervision meetings.
