ORGANIZATION: Vision Loss Resources

Reader Volunteer

Volunteer as a Reader with Vision Loss Resources. By sharing your time and sharing your eyes, you can help someone live independently!

This is an on-going volunteer opportunity. Volunteers work with a blind or visually impaired partner on a regular basis--usually 1-2 hours every other week. Volunteers help by reading mail, newspapers, letters, or other household paperwork. Volunteers may help with projects: writing thank you notes, organizing files or filling out checks. This is a social connection. You will meet someone new and share part of yourself with them by sharing your time. You can make a direct connection with someone and make a big impact on their life.

This is an easy and flexible volunteer opportunity. Scheduling is flexible! We will match you with someone who lives near you. Mileage reimbursement is available and training and support are provided.
