A counselor’s primary responsibilities are to care for campers, and build relationships with kids. They are the pace setter for each day, and are tasked with protecting a camper’s safety, emotions, and spiritual health for the week. A counselor is required to lead small group devotions and facilitate spiritual development. As a counselor you will sleep with and attend all activities and meals with your campers. Counselors must be at least 16 years of age, enjoy and have experience working with children, and effectively provide an environment for children that are physically and emotionally safe, as well as spiritually challenging.
List of job duties
- Nurture and care for children day and night
- Ensure kids are following proper hygiene regiments
- Make sure kids eat 3 meals a day
- Make sure kids get to activities on time
- Help kids maintain good behavior
- Lead small group devotion
- Participate in group games and activities and chapel

Description
Program Camps are camps that we run ourselves, as a camp. The camp hires the summer staff (volunteers who take their summer to work with kids). They make the schedules, provide the activities, entertain the campers, and mentor and counsel them. Program camps run for most of the summer, with camps for kids from 3rd grade to 12th grade. The younger kids get to experience a western-themed camp, along with classes on everything from survival to line-dancing, and a Biblical theme that is taught and exemplified every day. The youth camps have ever-changing themes and a speaker that teaches at chapel times. We also provide winter camps, women’s fall retreats, men’s spring retreats, and more!
