Company Description
A start up non profit organization that aims to provide our Board members with an impactful experience that will allow members to make a positive change in the community, while developing personally and professionally through their board service.
Season to Soar's mission is to combat social and economic factors that hinder communities. Our current areas of focus are poverty and youth development.
Our Global Leadership Youth Program provides students in under served communities with leadership skills and then challenges the students to use these skills to combat some of the challenges that plague their communities. Some of these challenges include homelessness, violence and educational disparities.
Job Summary
Members of the Board of Directors also serve on any of the following committees:
- Program Development
- Marketing
- Budget & Finance
- Fundraising
Primary Tasks :
- Develop and implement strategic planning for organizational growth
- Provide governance over the organization and solve high priority issues
- Lead the organization out of the startup phase and into a prominent non profit that is making an impactful change in needy communities
- Expand the organization's current youth development program
- Secure ample funding for the organization
Responsibilities and Duties
Board members are expected to:
- Attend monthly board meetings
- Serve as working board members, who are willing to fundraise, execute organizational programs and conduct operational activities
- Identify resources that will enable the organization to advance its mission and function to its full capability
- Strive to secure a minimum funding requirement for the organization
- Dedicate approximately 5 hours per month toward executing board related tasks independently, outside of meetings
- Make an annual contribution to the organization as board membership dues. (Please see FAQ below for more details on board dues)

- "Why are board members required to pay dues?
- Board dues are common for nonprofit boards, because as the "heart" of the organization, the bard must display that they support the organization and is invested in its mission. When asking the external community to support the organization, it is good practice to display that the organization's own board members also support it.
- What is Season to Soar's Board Due Policy?
- A minimum $50 annual contribution must be donated by the member. The "give-or-get" board due policy may be applied for the remaining $100; meaning the additional $100 may either be personally donated by the member or the member may raise $100 through fundraising or requesting donations)
- How much are Season to Soar's Board Dues?
- Season to Soar's Annual Board Dues are $150 (as mentioned above, this includes $50 donation and $100 give-or-get)
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
