Each day Community Servings prepares and packages 25000 meals for men, women, and children who are struggling with acute life threatening illnesses. Join the Community Servings team in the kitchen preparing and packaging meals for the critically ill. Volunteers will help the staff slice, chop, cook, assemble, and package meals for individuals and families battling HIV/AIDS, cancer, multiple sclerosis, and other life-threatening illnesses.
Volunteers must wear shirts with long sleeves, long pants, and close toed shoes. Volunteers must also be in good health to assist in the kitchen.

Mission Statement
Community Servings is a not-for-profit food and nutrition program providing services throughout Massachusetts and in Rhode Island to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. We give our clients, their dependent family members and caregivers appealing, nutritious meals, and send the message to those in greatest need that someone cares. Our goals are to help our clients maintain their health and dignity and preserve the integrity of their families through culturally appropriate, home-delivered meals, nutrition education, and other community programs.
Description
Community Servings prepares, packages and delivers free, medically tailored meals to 2,300 clients per year, who are too sick to cook for themselves or their families. Currently caring for clients with 35 different critical and chronic illnesses, our service includes a customized, nutritionally-packed meal bag for sick clients, their caregivers and dependent children. Our geographic service area includes 300 square miles across Massachusetts.
