Join the Green Kirkland Partnership and give thanks to the forest at Juanita Heights Park. Volunteers will spend the morning participating in a mix of restoration activities which may include removing non-native invasive species like English ivy and Himalayan blackberry, spreading mulch over cleared areas, and planting native trees, shrubs and ground covers.
No experience is necessary and we encourage volunteers of all ages to join us!
What to Bring:
Please dress for the weather, wear close-toed shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Bring a filled water bottle and snacks to munch on. Tools, gloves, and training will be provided.
Meeting point:
Meet at the top of Finn Hill at the end of the cul de sac on 89th PL NE. Group will meet at the top of the stairs at the park entrance.
Parking is available along the street.
Youth Volunteering Volunteers age 14-17 attending the event without a parent or guardian must bring a waiver signed by a parent or guardian to the event with them. Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Achieving this involves training and supporting volunteers in restoration activities.
Description
The Green Kirkland Partnership is an alliance between the City of Kirkland, nonprofit partners, businesses and the community to restore almost 500 acres of natural parkland in the City. The majority of the restoration efforts are accomplished by our dedicated volunteers. These volunteers may join us just one time or volunteer again and again. It takes everyone to restore our natural areas!
