Campus Compact of the Mountain West
Campus Compact of the Mountain West (CCMW) is a membership organization that engages college and university presidents throughout Colorado and Wyoming as part of a national coalition of more than 1100 colleges and universities across the country. These institutions are passionately committed to the value of service learning and civic engagement brings to higher education and the community. We connect student needs to community needs by empowering students to get involved in social issues where they can make a difference - not only in the lives of others, but also in their own growth as students and citizens of the world.
SECond Mission VISTA AmeriCorps Program
The SECond Mission VISTA AmeriCorps Program focuses on building the capacity of member campuses and community-based Veteran Serving Organizations to support veterans’ access to and persistence in higher education and their successful transition to the civilian workforce.

Community Works empowers the unemployed and those with barriers to employment to become self-supporting through job preparation and placement. Our vision is to see all job seekers in our community employed and fulfilling their God-given design.
AmeriCorps Member Benefits
Full-time 35-40 hours/week
Living stipend of $15,388.80 for the service year.
Education award commensurate with the Pell Grant (~$6,000) to be used for current educational expenses, to repay qualified student loans, or to be used within 7 years for educational expenses.
Child care credit for eligible members
Deferment of existing student loans during term of service
Repayment of interest accrued on qualified student loans during the term of service
Goal Statement
The goal of the project is to create a statewide veterans employment program for
CommunityWorks. The program needs to have an employment council, sustainability and
measurable employment outcomes.
Objectives and Activities
The first objective is to research desired organizations that are interested in attending an employers council for veterans. This includes but not limited to outreach to civic, public, and private organizations.
Member Activities:
1. Explore sustainability of the council.
a. Outreach to 20 veteran funders to determine program community fitness
2. Establish Community Veteran Partners
a. The member will conduct an environmental scan of veteran run employment
organizations to partner.
The second objective is to create a veteran specific employer focus group to address specific barriers to employment veterans experience. The focus groups are to be held once a quarter with diverse members.
Member Activities:
1. Develop veteran employment program
a. Research veteran occupational credentials
b. Veteran outreach statistics
c. Research veteran barriers to employment
2. Recruit veteran familiar employers
a. Conduct focus group
b. Develop letters of support
c. Develop veteran led supportive services

K2H Civic Futures AmeriCorps Program
The K2H Civic Futures AmeriCorps Program focuses on civic learning and engagement opportunities and skill development for kindergarten through higher education (K-H) students. In addition, the K2H program strengthens partnership pipelines between K-12 systems and higher education systems that create continuity for civic learning and engagement initiatives as students transition from K-12 to higher education.
