Ada County, Idaho

The Ada County Guardianship Monitoring Program visits all people on our caseload. In order to visit those clients, we must first make appointments. Your job will be to call the guardian and schedule a time for a Court Visitor to meet the person under guardianship. This involves working with Microsoft Outlook Calendar (we'll train you!) and Google Maps (to plot driving routes).

The Appointment Setter also fills in on any additional office tasks, like photocopying and/or proofreading documents. This could include additional training in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher and/or Adobe Acrobat.

About Ada County Guardianship Monitoring Program

Location:

200 N Front St, 5th Floor #506, Boise, ID 83702, US

Mission Statement

The Guardianship Monitoring Program serves as the "eyes and ears" of the Court by collecting and evaluating information about the well-being of a protected person, thus allowing the court to protect the interests of the ward and promote confidence in the judicial process.

Description

When a person does not have the understanding to make their own decisions or a child's parents cannot care for them, another person can apply to be their legal 'Guardian’. It is the Guardian’s job is to watch over that person (the ward) and make sure that they are properly taken care of.

In 1979 Idaho Statute 15.5.419 was implemented, requiring guardians to file an annual report about the status and condition of a ward. In 1995, the number of open cases had increased to 153, so The Ada County Guardianship Monitoring Program (GMP) was established to watch over them. At that time, it consisted of one employee.

Now the GMP has of a team of three employees that supervise over 2,300 cases. As our case load increases, we rely more and more upon the assistance of volunteers in order to serve our community.
