Stein Hospice cares for terminally ill patients at home and in health care facilities throughout Union, Middlesex, Somerset, Hunterdon, Monmouth and Mercer counties. Help our patients improve their quality of life by bringing birthday and holiday gifts to cheer them. (Gifts provided by the Hospice and community volunteers who donate their handywork to comfort our patients.) A brief visit can include helping the patient unpack the gift bag and singing happy birthday or holiday songs. A longer visit can include reading aloud, telling stories and listening to the patients memories of earlier celebrations. Bring joy to a terminally ill person!
The mission of Stein Hospice is to provide compassionate, quality comfort care that enhances the lives of people with life-limiting illness, and their families', residing in Central New Jersey. Stein Hospice is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive services to terminally ill patients and their families focusing on improving their quality of life. We believe that the end of life should be spent in an environment that provides the greatest comfort and sense of emotional well-being. Our professional hospice team and our trained volunteers serve the patients wherever they call home; whether it is a house, apartment, assisted living facility or nursing home. By recognizing the unique aspects of each family, its history and its way of dealing with lifes' challenges,Stein Hospice team customizes its care and compassionately brings a sense of peace and calm to patient and family at a time that they are most needed.
Our terminally ill patients are in need of caring companions who will help them live the best lives possible in the last months, weeks and days of their lives.
Our hospice services are coordinated and provided by an interdisiciplinary team of professionals and trained volunteers. The volunteers offer essential help either directly to patients and their families, or in our offices. Direct patient care volunteers have the opportunity to create relationships with patients, offering them dignity, companionship and caring at a time when they need human connections the most.
