Girls in the Game is seeking energetic and committed volunteers to support Girls in the Game After School. Brush up on your athletic skills while participating in fun and educational health and leadership activities!
Girls in the Game provides and promotes sports and fitness opportunities, nutrition and health education and leadership development to enhance the overall health and well-being of girls.
As an After School Volunteer, you'll support coaches by co-leading activities, participating alongside the girls and cheering them on, and serving as a positive role model. A typical afternoon will include a fun and active sport like volleyball or football, plus health workshops and play-based learning addressing girls' individual needs and experiences. Volunteering with After School is a great way to make a positive impact on girls in Chicago.
Girls in the Game After School runs in ten-week seasons throughout the school year. We ask volunteers to commit to at least ten weeks to provide consistency for the girls, and so volunteers have a meaningful experience. As a volunteer, you'll visit the same school or park once a week after school, usually beginning around 3:00 or 4:00pm, for about 90 minutes. You'll get to know your team of 25 girls as they learn, play and grow each week, and two Girls in the Game staff members will always be there to lead the program.
We accept volunteer applications year round, so what are you waiting for? Get in the Game with After School and see the difference you can make for girls!
