Friendly, music-loving volunteers needed for Cedille Records's gala

Help us host our annual fundraising gala supporting Cedille Records! We are looking for several volunteers to help before, during, and after the event:
- Decor set-up: Arrange centerpieces for dinner tables (no prior floral experience needed), set up votive candles
- Registration Table: greet guests, hand out event materials and help direct guests to reception/ concert area.
- Ushers: we need some friendly greeters who can help guests quickly find their seats and help escort guests to dinner area immediately following the concert.
- Auction monitors: Help guests bid on auction items, as well as monitor the auction for proper bidding. This team will also help move the auction between cocktail reception room and dinner area during the concert portion of the evening.
- Event Check Out: Assist guests with payment of auction items and help distribute proper items to the highest bidder.
- Event floaters: Volunteers will be placed throughout the venue to help direct guests, answer questions, and monitor the overall flow.
- All event volunteers will help break-down and pack up at the end of the evening.
Attire: Business/ reception attire. Flats or cushioned footwear is also recommended (sneakers discouraged).
Physical requirements: Volunteers should be able to stand for long periods. During the set-up and break down phases of the event, volunteers may be asked to lift up to 30 pounds.

Description
Whereas a concert's duration is finite, Cedille’s recordings are preserved for posterity. No recording is ever deleted from our catalog, so one can enjoy the fully-produced performance years after the recording was made. Cedille’s projects serve the world’s classical music audience and local artists.
No other organization -- either for-profit or non-profit -- is dedicated to recording Chicago-area classical musicians and ensembles. It is vital that world-class artists from Chicago have their work recorded and distributed so that they can reach and enhance the lives of the world-wide classical music audience.
