The bereavement Support volunteer serves as an additional support to grieving families and caregivers during the 13 -month period following the death of the hospice patient. Support may be provided in a variety of ways, including assisting with bereavement telephone calls, or facilitating a Bereavement Support Group and / or assisting with the Annual Memorial service. all support provided by the Bereavement Volunteer is under the direct supervision of the bereavement Coordinator (or designee). Description
The purpose of Gentiva Hospice care is to assist individuals with serious illness to live as fully as possible surrounded by family and friends until the end of life. Hospice programs focus on patient directed care that maximizes comfort and quality of life. Quality of life is also enhanced by program services that support the patient’s family in maintaining the patient in the home.
