Job Purpose:
Director of Fundraising is responsible for all fundraising events including both BHF volunteer-initiated events and privately initiated events. The Director of Fundraising is accountable to the Chairman of the Board as well as the entire Board.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. First Point of Contact (POC) for questions / information regarding fundraising via social media, phone & email. Assist in planning events if needed.
2. Assist POC in preparing Notification of Fundraising Event (NFE) for event, process paperwork for board votes and upload to SharePoint. Assist in getting volunteers signed up at monthly meeting.
3. Use best judgement on requested events that meet BHF criteria for event (i.e. exposure, funds raised, volunteer/Board time involved). All events not required to go through board if event doesn’t meet BHF criteria.
4. Assist POC in preparing After Action Report (AAR) for submittal to the Board. Invite POC and/or organizer to do check presentation at monthly volunteer meeting.
5. Recommend and coordinate supplies needed for events. Suggest new or re-orders to Inventory Director. Prepare Purchase Orders for large purchases for approval by Treasurer & Chairman.
6. Coordinate with Communications team to advertise event properly on BHF social media. Suggest recurring PR if needed. Submit orders for printing posters as needed. Ensure BHF trademarked logo is not inappropriately used.
7. Issue copies of Raffle License where needed to post at events.
8. Prepare paperwork for City Alcohol license for Board approval.
9. Coordinate with Volunteer Events Director for volunteer needs.
10. Coordinate insurance coverage for BHF sponsored events. Ensure minimum liability for BHF on events.
11. Maintain records of fundraising events and funds raised.
12. Encourage other Board and Flight team members to attend events whenever possible to show support for the events.
13. The Fundraising Director shall also attend all Flight Send-Off and Welcome Home ceremonies and assist Flight Team during these events if not flying.

Other Duties:
1. Responsible for attending monthly board meetings, flight team meetings, and all volunteer meetings (first Wednesday of every month, currently beginning at 5:30 pm) and providing monthly committee reports in advance of this meeting. Also, responsible to attend any extended and special meetings of the Board.
2. Director of Fundraising has equal vote to other board members in organizational decision-making process.
3. Works with the entire Board of Directors, Flight Team members and volunteers.
4. Schedule any meetings and attend under the Fundraising area of coverage.
5. Perform such tasks as possible when requested by the Chairman of the BHF Board.
Skills Needed:
1. Communications: verbal and written
2. Computer skills:
a. Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Excel and Word.
b. Knowledge of Acrobat Adobe Professional.
c. Understanding of other programs as they may arise.
3. Time Management:
a. Time commitment varies however it does increase during the flight season.
b. Complete tasks in a timely manner as others may be dependent on work.

Mission Statement
Badger Honor Flight is a regional affiliate of the National Honor Flight Network. The purpose of the Honor Flight Network is to ensure that World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War and terminally ill veterans from any war have the opportunity to see the memorials that have been erected in their honor. Badger Honor Flight provides all amenities to the veterans, including all transportation and meals on the day of the flight. Everything is free to the veterans because of how much they have sacrificed for this great country already.

Badger Honor Flight (BHF) is a regional hub of the Honor Flight Network (r).
Badger Honor Flight is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices and to transport our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans - World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill. There are currently 140 hubs in 45 states. BHF is currently accepting and flying World War II, Korean, and Vietnam War-era veterans. To date we have flown 39 flights from Madison, WI to Washington D.C., and just surpassed our 3000th Veteran. BHF is a 100% volunteer-staffed organization.
