Share experience, passion, and knowledge with first-year, first-generation college students living in poverty. The Bresee Foundation and Family and Youth Center is located in Central Los Angeles serving a population that is living at or below the poverty level. Bresee's mission is "to battle poverty by empowering youth and families in Los Angeles with the skills, resources, and relationships necessary to thrive."

We are looking for volunteers to mentor in our college success program for the 2020-2021 school year. Connect with our first-generation college students who are starting their freshman year of college by becoming part of their support system, helping to create a viable solution to inequity in education. Our students have worked hard in school, are spirited and resilient, and have earned a Bresee scholarship to continue the next step in their educational pursuit. We want them to continue to succeed! By achieving a college degree, students increase their earning potential, helping to stop the cycle of poverty.

Help create life-lasting change by becoming a resource and building a relationship today. Your life experience is extremely beneficial to a young adult being away from home for the first time.
(This is a remote opportunity; it does not require you to be on-site at our center to participate.)
