The Public Lands Interpretive Association (PLIA) seeks volunteers to help enhance visitor experiences on public lands. Volunteers will help run the bookstore at the PLIA administrative office in Los Ranchos. Volunteers will also help with research tasks that can take place onsite or remotely.
Volunteers will gain customer services skills by greeting walk-in customers at the store and will sell recreation-themed publications, products and trail maps.
Volunteers will also assist in updating recreation information on www.publiclands.org -- an education-based website and webstore that provides information on western public lands in the United States.
To help get the word out about the resources available at the office store and on the website, volunteers will also help with social media marketing and other outreach methods.
Lastly, volunteers will help manage our Resource Library, which contains a diverse selection of books about public lands across the West.
