We are in search of regular volunteers to assist in the St. Vincent's Food Pantry where we provide help to approximately 6, 000 people per month.
Normal Food Pantry Operations
Days: Monday through Friday
Shifts: 9:00 am- 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm -4:00 pm
There are 5 different types of opportunities:
1. Reception: greet clients, provide excellent customer service, enter clients' information into computer system, maintain accurate records, and maintain neat and clean work space.
2. Window: pack food, hand out allotment to clients, and breakdown boxes as needed.
3. Food Box Attendant: pick up grocery boxes, deliver them to the cars of those who can't carry them; either carry or use a provided cart, help pack grocery boxes and bags when needed, and restock shelves in lobby area when needed.
4. Food table: packing non-perishable food and breaking down boxes.
5. Warehouse: moving things around the warehouse, unpacking pallets, and breaking down boxes.

Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada is dedicated to providing support to those in need in the Reno/Sparks community as well as across rural Nevada. We help people of all cultures and beliefs rise up out of poverty and overcome the barriers to self-sufficiency. We do this through a broad range of services, including food resources, maternity/family services, case management, and residential programs. On average, over 20,000 individuals receive support from us on a monthly basis.
Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada has been serving individuals and families for over 75 years. While we are affiliated with the Diocese of Reno, Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada is a separately-incorporated 501(c)3 nonprofit agency.
