Special Olympics in the Charlotte area of North Carolina is seeking Healthy Athletes "Strong Minds" Volunteers to join the Strong Minds team at the SONC Fall Tournament on November 2nd.

Special Olympics NC needs qualified medical professionals to volunteer at the Healthy Athletes screening event. Certificate and current licensure as a mental health professional may come from but are not liimited to:

  • private practices
  • universities/colleges/schools
  • health and professional associations including social work
  • medical facilities including government (military/VA/state/national/local)
  • state and local public health agencies
  • yoga studios
Strong Minds is an interactive learning activity focused on developing adaptive coping skills. Competition provides a natural opportunity to develop active strategies for maintaining emotional wellness under stress, such as: thinking positive thoughts, releasing stress and connecting with others.
