The Institute for Regional Conservation’s (IRC) Restoring the Gold Coast Kick-Off Event on Saturday, October 19th in Delray Beach (**This is a rescheduled event, since our original date was impacted by Hurricane Dorian)

Join IRC, the City of Delray Beach, Sandoway Discovery Center and the Beach Property Owners' Association for a Restoring the Gold Coast Kick-off event at the Municipal Beach in Delray Beach. We will be meeting at the gazebo located across from Nassau Street and working in the dunes on either side of the gazebo. Participants of all ages will learn about the value of restoring coastal biodiversity while planting native coastal plants, removing invasive plants and picking up trash. We will provide all tools, gloves, and materials necessary as well as light refreshments. We ask that volunteers wear closed-toed shoes, sunscreen, and a hat. All participants will receive a free t-shirt at check-in!

We will happily verify community service forms for students who need to document their hours.

About The Institute for Regional Conservation

Location:

100 East Linton Boulevard, Suite 302B, Delray Beach, FL 33483, US

Mission Statement

A private non-profit organization, The Institute for Regional Conservation (IRC) is dedicated to the protection, restoration, and long-term management of biodiversity on a regional basis, and to the prevention of regional extinctions of rare plants, animals and ecosystems.

Description

Based in Florida, USA, IRC works on conservation research and action throughout South Florida, the Caribbean and beyond. Our work is premised on an innovative idea of conservation that seeks to protect and restore viable populations of all plant and animal species within a region, rather than simply focusing on charismatic animals or plants with narrow global ranges.
