Unpaid internship
The Alzheimer’s Association provides an excellent opportunity for college students to learn about business as conducted by the Association and gain real life experiences. The Long Island Chapter is currently seeking an intern for the Fall 2019 semester. The select candidate will have an opportunity to work on our signature event, Walk to End Alzheimer's in addition to other events happening on Long Island this fall.
The communications intern will assist the communications manager in planning and promoting Alzheimer’s Association events through press releases, flyer creation, mailings, social media, online calendar entries, public service announcements and other outlets.
Desired skills:
Demonstrated proficiency in writing, editing and fact-checking. Familiarity with Gmail, Windows for PC, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with InDesign and Photoshop a plus. Experience with social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.
The student intern must be eligible to receive college credit for participation in this program. This program does not displace employees.

- Supporting documentation from college or university showing eligibility for academic credit in exchange for the hours worked at the Association
