Emmaus is hosting a six-week walk-to-run health enrichment mentorship program called Hopeful Soles that is open to adults residing in Emmaus housing, the YMCA, and the YWCA.
Emmaus is seeking enthusiastic, qualified volunteers to assist in leading this program as Fitness Buddies. We will meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings, from 6:30am-7:30am, and each day we will focus on working towards health and wellness goals. As a fitness buddy, you will provide ongoing, support for your buddies - and we will support you in that effort. Every activity is designed to promote healthy and active lifestyles. Hopeful Soles aims to increase self-esteem, enhance soft skills, such as dependability, communication skills, and perseverance, and instill within participants a love for self-improvement. We need your help to make this program a success!
Qualifications:- At least 18 years old
- Experience or interest in working with adults who present with multiple challenges
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- (Must show proof of certification or intended training date to be completed before program start date)
- Creative, high-energy, and flexible personality
- Responsible, motivated, and independent

Description
Emmaus Inc. was incorporated in 1985 and seeks to relieve the plight of the homeless through emergency shelter, permanent affordable housing, education and job training, and comprehensive support services.
Emmaus has served homeless families and individuals since January 1987. Each year, Emmaus helps over 2,500 different women, men, and children. On any given night, over 300 adults and children call Emmaus "home". Emmaus provides over 80,000 meals annually to our shelter guests and housing residents.
