This young pug mix is a riot! She loves to roll around in the grass and have fun! Rescued from an inner city pound and is doing well at Friends of Linden Animal Shelter now. She is a solid girl and enjoys walks and playtime. Submit an online application at folas.org today to meet her.

URGENT! We are looking for responsible dependable people who are willing to help with daily am/pm shelter shifts.

In addition, we have just reopened our adoption site at Petsmart in Union NJ. 948 Route 22
East . We need volunteers at Petsmart on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4 to help with the 4 cats housed there. If you are available for any hours on a weekend to help out, please submit a volunteer application at folas.org. a volunteer will get back to you shortly.

We also need help with fundraising, off site adoption functions, walking dogs, socializing cats, spending time with the dogs / cats, cleaning, etc.

We are always in need of foster homes. This is especially important during kitten season. The more foster homes we have, the more animals we can save! You supply the love, we supply everything else

If you have any fundraising ideas or would like to advertise / spread the word for us to, please contact us.

Mission Statement

FRIENDS OF LINDEN ANIMAL SHELTER (FOLAS) is an all volunteer non-profit no-kill animal rescue group formed in 2000. We are dedicated to caring for and finding lifelong, committed and loving homes for the many deserving animals that have either found their way into Linden Animal Control, are unwanted previous pets, or unclaimed strays, regardless of the manner they arrive into our system. We have found homes for hundreds of animals. Our volunteers must have their own health insurance and be at least 18 years old. If you can commit to at least 2 hours a week, we will set you up for a short training session with either the cats or dogs and you will be on your way to making a difference in an animal's life. Please fill out the online volunteer application at folas.org and a volunteer will get back to your shortly.

We promote spay/neuter of all companion animals and strive to educate the public on the importance of sterilization. Animals adopted through FOLAS are vetted, vaccinated, and spayed/neutered (if age appropriate).
