Please visit the new page to apply.
Join the Wild East Women's affinity group and spend a day of volunteer trail maintenance on the Appalachian Trail in the Big Laurel Branch Wilderness on Wednesday, October 9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The A.T. depends on volunteers and a Wild East Women's workday is a great way for ladies, and those who identify as such to grab a tool and feel the satisfaction of a rewarding trail project.
Asheville locals can plan to meet at 8 a.m., others can meet in Elizabethton, TN at 9 a.m.
Please be sure to wear long pants and sturdy boots. Bring plenty of water (2-3 liters at least) and snacks for the day, a lunch, sunscreen, bug spray, and a rain jacket.
Advanced registration necessary; please registering for this event.

Mission Statement
The Appalachian Trail Conservancy’s mission is to protect, manage, and advocate for the Appalachian National Scenic Trail.
Description
Appalachian Trail (A.T.) is a project built on civic engagement. It exists because people like you step up and help out in a variety of ways, outdoors or inside. Activities can be physical (such as Trail work or boundary maintenance), creative (like contributing photography or writing), or organizational (like planning or leading activities).
Volunteers gain new skills through their work. Whether you volunteer because you enjoy time in nature, want to forge new friendships, or appreciate having a deeper connection to a place you hold in high regard, we are glad you are here.
There are a variety of ways to contribute your talents and your time.
