CASA, Court-Appointed Special Advocates, is a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization that trains and supervises community members to represent the best interests of child victims of physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect that are currently in the judicial system.

A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is a trained volunteer who represents the best interests of child victims of physical, sexual, or emotional abuse and neglect that are currently in the judicial system. CASA Volunteers are supervised by CASA team members and work alongside the child's legal and professional team. They ensure that the child's physical, mental, educational and emotional needs are being met, and advocate for the child in court, all the while supporting them in their journey to find a safe and permanent home. In Adams and Broomfield Counties alone, there are over 1,100 children that need a loving and caring CASA.

About CASA of Adams and Broomfield Counties

Location:

Adams County Human Services Center, 11860 Pecos Street, Suite 2700, Westminster, CO 80234, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide court-appointed volunteer advocacy for children and youth from the child welfare system so every child can be safe, have a permanent home, and the opportunity to thrive.

Description

CASA of Adams & Broomfield Counties was incorporated in 1999 and serves the 17th Judicial District of Colorado. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and part of The National CASA Association for Children, which supports a network of 950 CASA Programs in 49 states and the District of Columbia.

We recruit, train, and supervise community volunteers, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA’s), to advocate in court for children who have experienced abuse and neglect.

CASA’s partnership with the U.S. Judicial System is a unique and necessary merging of the public and private sphere, providing children with one of the most valuable resources we can give during their time in the court system - a stable, consistent adult who cares.

CASA Advocates are supervised by CASA team members and work alongside the child's legal and professional team. CASA Advocates ensure that the child's physical, mental, and emotional needs are being met, and advocate for the child in court, all so that they may have a safe and permanent home.

CASA of Adams & Broomfield Counties serves 500 children each year, and is always looking for more caring volunteers to join our program and support children in need in our community.
