Care for Friends non profit is looking for Corporate Volunteers or community groups to kick off the Fall season right and serve some hot meals to the homeless community in Lincoln Park!
We see guests who come from as far North as Edgewater and as far south at 47th Street to share a meal at our tables. On average we receive at least 60 guests, many of them are regulars. We look for 6-12 volunteers to help prepare, cook and serve the meal.
We have an open door policy which means we don't record who we feed, and we see an array of people and hear an array of stories. This is a great opportunity to team build with your colleagues while actively assisting those less fortunate. We will provide you with food from our pantry and a team leader to instruct the cooking.
We invite you to come join us in the cooking process on these Mondays in September from 9am-1pm:

- September 23rd
- September 30th
Ask us about our Youth Dinners for homeless teens on Mondays starting in the Fall!

Description
Our flagship program is "Food for Friends" - where we create a safe space for anyone requiring a meal to gather in community for a no-cost hot lunch served in sit-down, family style with dignity and respect.
Other services are available during this gathering time, including haircuts, a health clinic, clothes closet, and toiletries distribution. Additionally, representatives from our various partner organizations begin to make connections with our guests - establishing trusting relationships that will ultimately allow our guests to connect with the services they need to achieve a better quality of life.
