More Than a Bed operates out of a five thousand square foot warehouse and is run primarily by volunteers. We receive donations of clothing, toys, household items to be distributed to foster, kinship, and adoptive families living in Arizona. We are looking for volunteers to assist with sorting the donations by season, then by gender and sizes. You will receive an orientation as to what that looks like once you arrive.
We are open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and the third Saturday of each month from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm to allow families to shop. Public donations are accepted any time we're open.
Background checks are required of all volunteers.

More Than a Bed's mission is to provide essential items to foster, kinship, and adoptive families for the children in their homes because every child deserves to be valued.
Description
More Than a Bed was established in September 2014. We are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization and are a Christian resource center for foster and adoptive families. Our vision is to inspire the community to get involved in the life of a foster child and support the family providing care. To encourage new families to be licensed and existing families to remain licensed with the goal of every child in Pima County and its surrounding areas to have a safe place to call home.
In our 5,000 sq ft warehouse we provide clothing, shoes, bedding, baby items, school items, books, cribs, toys, household items for the families to come in and shop for free for the items they need to provide for the child/children placed in their care. Through grants we purchase items much needed including cribs, twin and toddler beds, bunk beds, diapers and underwear. We believe every child should feel valued, so by helping the families get the essential needs for the children we hope we are accomplishing this.
