Looking for a flexible volunteer opportunity?
Heartland Hospice has two flexible volunteer opportunities! Individuals can volunteer for as little as 1 hour a week!
Tuck-In Call Volunteer:
Volunteers make a phone call to each patient every week on Wednesday/Thursday to "Tuck" them in for the weekend. This is our way of ensuring that our patients have enough supplies and medications to see them through until the next week begins.
Visitor Volunteer:
Our volunteers are matched with those who need a companion and a visitor on an on-going basis usually once a week for one hour. The purpose is to provide socialization and reduce isolation and loneliness. Not only do our volunteers visit individuals in their homes, but also in assisted living places and care centers. Individuals also enjoy volunteers to read to them, reminisce, look at pictures, listen to music, play bingo, etc.

Heartland Hospice is a non-profit organization that provides a unique type of care to clients with limited life expectancies, and to their loved ones. Hospice emphasizes quality rather than the length of life. Volunteers play a vital role in our organization and are rewarded with the kind of gratification that comes from helping another person.
