ORGANIZATION: Center for Independent Living in Central Florida, Inc

Position Summary: This is a part time, unpaid intern position requiring a minimum 15 hours per week. The marketing intern will report to the marketing manager. Start and End dates are flexible.

Start Date: Monday, August 26 th, 2019 End Date: Friday, December 6 th, 2019

Duties:


  • Assist with social media scheduling
  • Assist with increasing presence on social media
  • Present insight analytics on a weekly basis in an easily decipherable format
  • Segment email list and donor constituents into appropriate target groups
  • Research effective marketing tactics relative to constituent base
  • Learn and effectively utilize marketing platform Salsa Engage
  • Meet with the marketing manager on a weekly basis for professional development
  • Create and edit content for company-wide distributed communications, internal and external
  • Video content creation
  • Networking and outreach to community partners

Skills and Qualifications :


Required:

  • Writing skills - journalism and/or PR classes focused on writing and editing
  • Social media skills - working knowledge of current social media platforms
  • Online communications capabilities, including writing for intranet and closed-circuit TV systems.
  • Support development of video features and content.
  • Communication skills - comfort speaking in front of groups, with practiced relationship building skills
  • Understanding of intranet and web communications
  • Energetic, self-starter, ability to work collaboratively in highly diverse organization
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Proficiency in office support technology, particularly Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Desired:

  • Junior or Senior level status preferred but not required
  • Published writing
  • Knowledge and understanding of online communications, digital media, including video production, Photoshop and other digital communications.
  • Writing for media, including understanding of AP style
