Banner Hospice is proud to partner with We Honor Veterans, a national organization whose mission it is to support veterans in the final stages of their life.
Two of the ways we participate with We Honor Veterans are:
1. Match veteran volunteers with veteran hospice patients. When we have a volunteer request from a hospice patient who is a veteran, we do our best to match them with a veteran volunteer, especially if military service was an important part of the patient's life.
2. Pinning Ceremonies. When we have a veteran hospice patient, we gather together to recognize and thank them for their service through a pinning ceremony. Sometimes our ceremonies are planned and elaborate, and other times they are spontaneous. We are looking for veterans who are willing to help plan, organize, and attend pinning ceremonies.
Volunteering for hospice is a meaningful way to give back to the community as well as learn more about yourself. We have a wonderful group of volunteers and would love to have you on board as well. Please contact us to learn more about volunteering for Banner Hospice.
Thank you!
