  • Required to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO center location and facilities including security, background screening and the appropriate renewal of credentials prior to their expiration dates
  • Able to commit to a minimum of 1 shift per week on a set weekly schedule. (Morning shift is 5 hours, others are 4) Or have discussed a set schedule that was approved by a staff member.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and to walk, bend, stand and lift for extended periods of time
  • Commitment to treat guests, other volunteers and staff with respect and professionalism at all times

Volunteer Duties

  • Shift duties as assigned by USO Denver Staff as referenced in MEPS Center Operating Procedures Manual
  • Arrive at the center 5 minutes in advance of shift start time
  • Greet, welcome, orient, and assist guests
  • Monitor and maintain food and supplies
  • Tidy and clean the center which can include trash removal, dish washing, and bathroom cleaning
  • Answer visitors’ questions about the USO locally and around the world, the airport, and the surrounding community
  • Practice safe food handling and storage practices.
  • Assist with usage of computers, gaming equipment, telephones, or other offerings
  • Help conduct events and programs in the center such as: special activities, and holiday celebrations
