For many cancer patients, getting to and from treatment is the greatest barrier in beating the disease. Daily or weekly treatments over a period of months can be difficult and cause some patients to miss their treatment appointments.
Road to Recovery is an American Cancer Society program designed to ensure that cancer patients have transportation to and from medical facilities for treatments. Volunteer drivers provide patients with a ride in order to keep them on their regular treatment schedule.
If you live in the Shelby County area, have a driver’s license, access to a car, a safe driving record, personal automobile insurance, and can spare as little as one morning or afternoon a month, please consider volunteering as a Road to Recovery driver and play a key role in a cancer patient’s life.
Please include your call back phone number in the comments of your volunteer inquiry.
