Stanford Social Innovation Review, an award-winning publication based out of Stanford University, is currently seeking volunteers to support the 14th annual Nonprofit Management Institute (NMI). NMI brings some of the brightest minds in academia, nonprofits, government, and more to Stanford to discuss how best to innovate in the nonprofit sector from a variety of angles and approaches. This year, NMI's theme is Transforming Anxiety into Active Leadership - tackling the different modes and manifestations of anxiety that are present in our ever shifting world.
Volunteers are needed for 3 days. However, we are flexible. Please note, volunteers are only needed from 12pm - 5pm on Tuesday, September 10th. All other days (September 11th and 12th) volunteers will be needed to start around 7am and expected to finish around 5:00pm. If you can only volunteer your time for one day or for certain hours, we will work with you to ensure we have ample support for the duration of the conference. Preference will be given to individuals who can be present for the entire duration of the conference or for the entirety of at least one day. Volunteers will be expected to:
- Help check in attendees
- Guide attendees to the right conference rooms and spaces
- Help answer questions or guide conference attendees to those who can
- Assist in some light lunch preparation
- Hand-off microphones to attendees to ask questions/respond to speakers, panels, and workshops during Q & A sessions
- Organize, staple, and handout conference folders, schedules, and pamphlets
- Be flexible and willing to assist in other tasks as needed
- Be positive and helpful when interacting with all attendees
Anyone interested should respond to this posting or email eventhelp@ssir.org to ask questions or start a conversation. Moreover, all volunteers are expected to apply for the position (via a Google form) and explain why they believe they would be a good volunteer. Thank you, we look forward to seeing you at NMI 2019.
