Close to 12,000 people attend Day on the Bay every year to enjoy activities rich in diversity and talent, and rich in ethnic expression. The event takes place Sunday, October 13, 2019, from 10am to 3pm, but volunteers are needed all day for set up, running the event, and tear down. Volunteer shifts are 4 hours long and begin at 7am and go until 5pm. You can sign up for one or more shifts if you desire. LUNCH is provided :)
The tasks that will be assigned are: event setup - greeters - bounce house - rock wall - water station - food booth - pumpkin area - VIP parking (18+) - kayak registration - check in and assist vendors to booths - and Event tear down.
This fun-filled festival along the South Bay shores of Alviso features a health resource fair, and a festive celebration of our diverse cultures. Other activities include free pumpkins for kids, music, entertainment, free kayak rides, free hamburgers and veggie burgers, and of course the Cortese Zucchini Car Derby.
Not many residents know about the historic waterfront town of Alviso. Day on the Bay is "Alviso's most-attended event," according to the San Jose Mercury News.
Also, for the 5th year in a row, we will host 'Bike to the Bay,' a community bike ride along the Guadalupe River Trail from downtown to Day on the Bay!
Please share Day on the Bay with your friends!
NOTE: Volunteers under the age of 18 MUST complete a volunteer Release and Waiver form available when you register online and/or through the Santa Clara County Parks volunteer office. Minor volunteers without a signed waiver form will not be permitted to participate as a volunteer.
