ORGANIZATION: Midwest HeArt

Midwest HeArt is a local, non-profit organization dedicated to welcoming refugees through the universal language of art. Our goals are to continue creating welcoming spaces, educating communities about different culture groups and increasing the empathy needed towards refugees and asylum seekers.

This year Midwest HeArt will be hosting a free, community event on UpTown Green. We're seeking an eventing planning intern to learn more about the logistics that go behind event planning, but to help as support for this event. The event planning intern will work closely with the President of Midwest HeArt - also a volunteer - from mid-August until mid-October.

This opportunity is great for a professional or/and student wanting to gain event planning experience. Our Midwest HeArt team will look for an individual that is:

  • Skilled with: communications, marketing and event planning
  • Familiar with writing formal correspondences
  • Ability to work 3 hours per day M-F in Downtown Toledo (from 11am-2pm parking is free)
  • Comfortable working at different locations periodically: coffee shops specifically
  • Being assigned various tasks involving the event planning of this event
Interested prospects; please, contact Liz Mohler-Loomus at welcome@themidwestheart.org if you're interested in being our intern for this upcoming event. Include, an interest letter and your resume to be considered. We will provide more details when we contact you for an interview.
